NFL Champ Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski says CBD changed his life. Gronk is the former New England Patriots wide receiver. Gronk retired at the end of last season. He played nine seasons for the Patriots, including three Super Bowl Championships.

How did CBD change Gronk’s life?

During those nine seasons, Gronk underwent nine surgeries and learned to play with pain.

“I was in near constant pain and needed to make a change. After retiring, I looked for better and more natural ways to recover and discovered CBDMedic through my dad. These products have helped me safely manage pain better than anything else I’ve tried.”

That convinced Gronk to get into the CBD business. At a press conference this week, he announced his partnership with Abacus Health Products, Inc. (Abacus HP)

“It would have made a huge difference for me I believe during my playing career. I want the same opportunity for my friends and teammates out there. That’s why I’m advocating for CBD to be acceptable for all players to be used for recovery,”

Abacus HP is a CBD company based in Rhode Island. Their website says their mission is to “use advanced topical formulations that combine CBD hemp extract (Cannabis sativa L.) with leading topical analgesics (menthol and camphor) to deliver temporary pain relief products to millions of people throughout the world”. They distribute their products to CVS, Walgreens, and other chain stores.

Will NFL Champ Gronk play again?

Oh, and since you might be wondering, Gronkowski was asked if he would return to playing in the NFL. He said no.

“It’s crazy. I understand. I feel that love. But I want to be clear to my fans: I needed to recover. I was not in a good place. Football was bringing me down. And I didn’t like it. And I was losing that joy in life. Like, the joy.”

So keep your eye out for new Gronk-inspired CBD products. But don’t look for Gronk on the playing field. (At least not this year.)
