Baby Boomers are Helping Themselves Because Doctors Don’t Know Enough About Cannabis.
According to a recent study in Colorado, baby boomers and seniors are frustrated with the lack of help and advice they’re getting from their doctors regarding cannabis. More and more boomers and seniors are discovering its effectiveness at treating common conditions of aging, like chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, fatigue, or nausea. But, their physicians are unable or unwilling to help them when it comes to making decisions regarding treatment options, dosage, and possible side effects.
So, the patients are treating themselves. They’re seeking medical advice from budtenders at dispensaries, as well as talking to friends or family members who have experience with cannabis. This obviously is a cause for concern for many people who would prefer to get their medical advice from a professional who has their medical records and has a history of treating them.
