Montel Williams Isn’t Getting Into Cannabis, He’s Been Here Nearly 20 Years
The cannabis industry has a number of stars attached to it. Martha Stewart, Willie Nelson, Seth Rogen, and Patrick Stewart just to name a few. You can expect more to jump on the bandwagon as it becomes even more accepted and profitable. But, one celebrity isn’t new to the cause. Montel Williams, a TV host and Navy veteran, has been crusading for cannabis for nearly 20 years. Williams has multiple sclerosis (MS) and cannabis has saved his life.
Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, Williams was prescribed a precursor to OxyContin to manage his chronic pain. By 2001, his doctor was refusing to write him new scripts.
“I was using up his prescriptions way too fast. He said, ‘I’m done with you. I’m not giving you any more prescriptions. But I heard about this stuff called marijuana that seems to work for people that have this type of MS. You ought to find out as much as you can about it.’’’ Williams said.[…]
