Indiana Family Wants Cannabis Legalization After Death of 6-Year-Old Daughter

Heidi and Dave Curtis were devastated by their daughter, Charly’s diagnosis of a severe form of epilepsy. They tried everything doctor prescribed but they couldn’t stop Charly’s gran mal seizures. While they waited to get on the state’s restrictive medical program they decided to take matters into their own hands.

“We thought, ‘OK, it’s not legal here. But we have to do something,'” Heidi said. “We could see our little girl fading away. Her movements were getting slower, her speech was a little different. You could see the impact that these seizures were having on her developmentally.”[…]
