He’s a Decorated Army Veteran. He Took a Cannabis Job. Now He Can’t Get His Pension.

Retired US Army Major Tye Reedy took a job with a respected company in the cannabis industry to pay his bills. But in doing so, he has found that the Army has decided his employment by Acreage Holdings is a discredit to the Army and West Point. So, they’ve made it impossible to earn his pension. The company he works for also has former US Speaker of the House, John Boehner, on its board of directors.

He went to West Point just before Sept. 11, 2001, and ended up on active duty for 11 years. He served two yearlong combat tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, led units in the so-called surge campaigns in both wars, and was awarded four Bronze Stars.[…]
