Google Play Store Bans Cannabis Sales and Delivery Apps
Google just added a rule to their Google Play Store that effectively bans cannabis dispensaries and cannabis delivery companies from offering apps that customers can use to purchase cannabis or to have it delivered. Google will still allow apps that promote cannabis dispensaries and cannabis products & services, as long as the app doesn’t “facilitate” the sale of cannabis.
Apple’s App Store already bans these types of apps.
“These apps simply need to move the shopping cart flow outside of the app itself to be compliant with this new policy,” said a spokesperson. “We’ve been in contact with many of the developers and are working with them to answer any technical questions and help them implement the changes without customer disruption.” […]
