Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Lands a Cancer Patient in Prison

Thomas Franzen has pleaded guilty and, pending a medical ruling, is expected to report to prison to serve a 4-year sentence because of cannabis-infused chocolate. In 2014, law enforcement intercepted a large package of cannabis-infused chocolate bars being sent to him from a California dispensary. 430 chocolate bars to be exact. After long drawn-out legal proceedings, Franzen has pleaded guilty. In the meantime, his cancer has spread to his lungs and abdominal cavity.
